Kent County Reassessment Summarized

House Bill 62

 On August 9, 2023, Governor John Carney signed House Bill 62 into law, amending Delaware Code relating to the assessment of real property, requiring real property reassessments every 5 years.


Tyler Technologies started collecting data in October 2021, by taking exterior measurements and, in some cases, speaking to residents. Tyler Technologies then performed an analysis using Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) techniques to establish market values based on an effective date of July 1, 2023. 


2024 Kent County tax rates will be based on the market values established by Tyler Technologies.
